KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group acquires NDI Retail to expand offerings to include retail environments

CINCINNATI, Ohio – KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group, a national and regional supplier of point-of-purchase services, has acquired NDI Retail, expanding the company’s capabilities to include the design, manufacture and installation of compelling retail environments.

NDI Retail, previously known as New Directions Industries, has served small retailers to Fortune 500 customers with custom retail interiors. The NDI Retail company has been branded as a new division, KDM Retail Solutions. The company also gains the use of a 38,000-square-foot facility, in Evendale, Ohio, within one mile of the KDM headquarters.

“At KDM, we believe in investing in people and technology that increase our strategic value to our customers and potential customers,” said Bob Kissel, president of KDM. “We recognize that our customers needs for marketing at the point of purchase go beyond printing. That’s why we’ve invested in custom plastic fabrication and now custom retail fabrication – displays, kiosks and overall environments.”

The president of NDI Retail, Jim Jaeger, has also joined KDM as part of the acquisition and is leading the division. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the industry to serve customers. The company has served supermarket chains, big box stores, specialty retailers, restaurants, education, healthcare, financial services, consumer goods and the hospitality industry. New retail environments or remodels can include store fixtures, interior décor, lighting, flooring, color palette, displays, kiosks, casework, permanent way-finding signage and dimensional signs.

“Our approach is to listen to the clients’ needs and the issues they’re having – whether it’s a new store launch or a re-imagining of an existing retail environment. Our creative team helps retailers fulfill their vision through design, and our fabricators deliver with quality craftsmanship. The staff of the former NDI Retail joined KDM, bringing the total workforce of the KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group to almost 300.

“The acquisition of this talented team of experienced craftspeople and state-of-the-art equipment has allowed us to expand our offerings and meet our customers’ evolving needs,” Kissel said.

Founded in 1970, KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group has made other acquisitions to seek out relevant and important services for its point-of-purchase customers. In 2007, the company acquired World of Plastics, located in Hendersonville, Tenn. Now known as KDM Plastic Solutions, the division manufactures and fabricates custom plastic solutions. In 2009, KDM bought Bruce Plastics in Gallatin, Tenn., to bolster this division of the business with additional equipment and increased capabilities.
